Nana & Jessie Lee

Hi.

I’m Jessie Lee Miller.

I’ve lived in Winston-Salem since 2001, when I moved to attend college at Wake Forest University. I met and married my husband at Wake Forest, and subsequently worked at the university for a number of years. In 2012, I became a stay at home mom and now I have a crew of three little kids.

I can remember the day when I first learned how to sew. Nine years old, I was at my grandparent’s mountain home on vacation and covered in chicken pox. Desiring to distract me from the itchiness, my Nana decided to teach me how to make a doll. Her name was Beth, she had black curly hair and she wore a blue gingham dress. I was hooked.

Years later, I'm still enamored with sewing. My sewing journey has included lots of doll making, quilts, and clothes. I now focus exclusively on custom window treatments and soft home furnishings such as roman shades, cushions, pillows, drapes, bedding, shower curtains, etc.

I have come to appreciate over the years how much I enjoy making things with my hands. My workroom is one of my favorite places to be. I love the feel of cloth between my fingers, bright splashes of color and patterns, the clack of the calculator buttons, the cool metal of the measuring tapes and needles, the hum of sewing machines, and the feeling of accomplishment when your work is well done.
